Connections: Nature,
Growth and Wellbeing
2020
In partnership with GARTH (Gwent Arts in Health), an open call art project was formed to enhance public spaces in St. Woolos Hospital, Newport. The brief emphasised on the importance of the project to touch on the relationship between healthcare and the natural world, whether this is medicinal properties or how natural environments can provide a space for healing and wellbeing.
A Trip Down Memory Lane
Thread on Fabric, 2020
Through conversation with local residents, it was clear many people would reminisce about locations they loved, in and around Newport. These threads of memory often linked to each other and, although these people had never met, they experienced a commonality of nostalgic memories from this park. This brings life and deeper meaning than just the simple location pictured.
This shared nostalgia binds and connects individuals. Through discovering these invisible threads, we can grow both personally and collectively, allowing us to unveil lost memories and bring a greater sense of belonging.
I hope, through this piece, I may be able to connect with you and uncover our shared threads of experience.
